Blogs are buzzing about a unique soap dispenser P&G created last year, for Safeguard – it sounds an alarm to remind bathroom users to wash their hands.

The soap dispenser is designed to be wired to bathroom doors in public restrooms, so as a person unlocks a door, and opens it to leave a public restroom – the soap dispenser’s alarm sounds. Once the person presses the button to use the soap and wash their hands, the noise stops.

Supposedly, the ‘Germ Alarm’ is being used in public restrooms in the Phillippines – in schools and fast food restaurants.

Safeguard has been promoting handwashing over the years, and partners withleading health organizations across the world to teach children life-saving hygiene habits. The brand’s School Handwash Education Programs have so far touched the lives of more than 40 million kids across the world.
